‘Is there a minimum age for children attending events?’

Our sessions are generally aimed at children aged 4yrs+, however we are able to attend sessions for preschools and nurseries where younger children are closely supervised by staff.

At birthday parties, any children younger than 4yrs will need to be closely supervised during the session. Jungle Juniors staff cannot be responsible for supervising younger guests.

 

‘Can my event be held at my home or do i have to hire a hall?’

We are happy to attend events held at home providing there is sufficient space for the children to sit comfortably, and for us to have room to move freely whilst handling the animals. We also need room to set up our table (4ftx2ft).

 

‘Are you able to attend events held outside?’

We are able to attend events held outdoors during the warmer months (usually June-August) but this is obviously weather dependent. It is always recommended to have a ‘back up room’ in case of rain or varying temperatures.

 

‘Am i able to choose which animals i’d like to come to my event?’

We always aim to bring a variety of animals to each of our events (Reptiles, Amphibians, Invertebrates) and will always do our best if there is a particular ‘type’ of animal you'd like to meet. It is however hard to guarantee a ‘specific’ animals attendance.

Our animals have specific needs and it is our priority that these needs are respected.

Some factors we have to take into consideration are:………..

Shedding of skin and moulting- Many of the animals will go through a shedding/ moulting process. During this time and after it is very important they are left alone and not handled.

Feeding- Specifically with snakes, it is important to allow sufficient time (up to 72hrs) for them to digest their meal before handling.

Most importantly, their well being- If for any reason one of the animals did not seem their usual self then they would not be brought an event.

 

‘Do you require a deposit?’

Once booked in you will receive a confirmation email with payment and deposit details. We require a non-refundable 20% deposit to secure the booking. The remaining amount can be paid on the day of the event.

 

‘How many guests can attend my party?’

Both party packages have a limit of 15 guests, however we find the perfect number of guests to be around 10 . The reason for limiting numbers are first and foremost for the sake of the animals and their welfare. When numbers exceed 15 we find the volume levels get too high and the session is rushed.

If we arrive at an event and numbers have exceeded the limit we reserve the right to begin the session.

 

‘How far will you travel?’

We will travel a maximum of 90 minutes however any journey over 30 mins will require an added travel time/ fuel fee.

0-30 minute journey: no fee

30min -1hr :£15

1hr -1.5hrs :£25

 

‘What does a party package consist of?’

During the party the children look at each animal one at a time. Cards are laid face down on the floor with a picture of animal being on the other side. The birthday child is given a role in helping decide which cards are chosen next. The children learn some interesting facts whilst looking at each animal and are given the opportunity to touch/ handle with guidance, if they wish.

Our Silver Package is approximately 45 minutes and recommended for younger children (4yrs+) who may find an hour a long time to sit down.

Our Gold package is approximately 1 hour and aimed at children aged 6 year+.
